I write a lot of songs questioning reality and existence, but this song addresses these questions more directly and perhaps more successfully than any other. The process of recording the song took a couple of false starts, before we stripped it down to its basics and built it up again, but the extra effort was worth it. It builds nicely to the final “How did I get here / Do I belong here" chorus, and when Rick chimes in with his “ask myself what it means” harmonies, it's just perfect.
