Cosa Dici?

from Galerie Zru by Zru Vogue

about

“Cosa Dici?” was an Italian dada poem originally written and performed by Rick Cuevas at the 1983 performance of GALERIE ZRU. For the performance, Rick dressed in a full-on Pope costume and recited the poem while embracing an attractive young woman.

For the 2010 edition, Andrew created a melancholy musical piece that provides the sonic backing for Rick’s absurdist Italian soliloquy.

lyrics

Lyrics:

Cuore di gomma, (heart of rubber)
Voglio morire (I want to die)
Ci sono delle mosche (there are flies...)
Nel mio tapetto (...in my throw-rug)
Siamo tutti formiche (we are all ants...)
Sulla viale delle balie (...on the avenue of the wet-nurses)
I pesci quadrati inutili (the unnecessary square fishes...)
Vogliano essere empii (...want to be unholy)
