about

Amnesiac's Poem is the prologue to Zero: Exile II. One might think of it as a poem found in the room last inhabited by Zero prior to his mysterious disappearance.

This is Zero’s opening monologue and it sets the stage for Exile II. There’s a theatrical feel to this and many of the songs on this album that immerse the listener in murky moods and obscure sensations. The world and mind of Zero only begin to make sense once you stop trying to understand them and accept them as something to be understood on their own terms. In “The Okay Talk,” layered synthesizers buoy Zero’s seaside confessional. He has gone from a dreary, mundane life into a surreal and strange experience that nearly killed him, and then somehow escaped – or has he?

lyrics

Lyrics:

Capturing flies like a
Pedigreed troubadour
Salty in fashions that
Speak the unspoken
Dreaming of Barbies
Twisted and broken

Under earth
This simple lie
Reveals your secret
Blinds your eye

Not for the shy
Not for the tame
Lose your mind
To find your name
